How not to share your faith: Prison Fellowship Annual Gathering Session

Today I had the privilege of leading a session at the Prison Fellowship Scotland Annual Gathering.

In my session we looked at a few areas, including what effective group work looks like and also what effective listening looks like.

We also looked at how not to share your faith. This parody was a great discussion stimulus:

So if that is what sharing your faith should not look like, what may it look like?

One aspect I shared was the following five principles.

One old evangelist once described evangelism as 'one beggar telling another beggar where to get food.' It's true. Evangelism isn't me the knowledgeable authority telling you the recipient how it is and isn't. It's simply one person sharing the hope they have encountered with others. 'Freely you have received, freely give.'
